What are you doing for your summer vacation?
This summer is consisting of a lot of working, and squeezing in play time whenever possible. A number of friends’ weddings will take priority, but the odd beach day or golf afternoon are absolute necessities. This past weekend, my best friend and I took a weekend trip to Canmore, Alberta to take in the beautiful scenery, perfect weather, great shopping, freezing cold glacier water, and a lot of fun! White water rafting was definitely the highlight of the trip!
What turned you on to the Saskatchewan Pension Plan? i.e. Why did you join or why are you thinking of joining?
I received a strong referral to the SPP, as my entire family has been investing with this pension plan for a number of years. I would consider myself a fairly conservative investor, and do not like to see large fluctuations in my investments. The SPP gives me that peace of mind, knowing my money is being properly handled and invested. Having grown up in Saskatchewan, I wanted to invest my money in a ‘home grown’ pension plan that I felt was safe and secure. The website for SPP is very informative and has answered any questions I’ve had with regards to the best investing for my financial situation.
Why do you think other people should become members of the Saskatchewan Pension Plan?
Simply looking at the historical rate of return on your investments, the average return is 8% since the pension plan started. SPP makes investing simple and easy. I love that I can invest as little as $50 / month, and up to $2500 / year, making the plan flexible to my needs. It is not a little investment fund either, with 32,000 members contributing. For someone with little investment knowledge or know-how, the SPP sends easy to read statements each year that allow me to really see where my money is accounted for, which helps me to feel involved in the investment process. The website has an abundance of valuable information regarding the pension plan as well in financial statements, etc. that can provide so much more information, should you be interested, as well as external links about personal finances, investment options, etc. The best part, if you don’t understand something, they are only a call or email away!
